Residents of the Safe Haven permanent supportive housing program participate in the annual Christmas party

Safe Haven

Safe Haven is a unique housing program that offers dorm-style living and provides permanent supportive housing for former chronically homeless, disabled adults. Residents have their own room, but the bathroom, kitchen and living space are all communal. Residents need to be referred from the Homeless Services Network Coordinated Entry System. Residents do not need an income to be part of this program.

Success Story: Safe Haven Program

When Jennifer joined the Safe Haven family, she had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and other medical conditions but wasn’t taking her medications regularly

“They helped me in a lot of different ways,” she said. “I was able to take care of my health; they made sure I took my meds. Now I’m okay and watch the clock (myself). I am able to relax and be at home and be safe.”
